Our Impact

At Marc Heu Pâtisserie Paris, our work extends far beyond pastries.

We exist to create opportunity, restore identity, and build pathways for communities historically excluded from culinary spaces.

Our patisserie is a living testament to the resilience of the Hmong people, the elegance of French artistry, and the belief that food can bridge continents, memories, and generations.

Empowering Women, Immigrants & Refugees

Our bakery was built by—and for—those who were never meant to have a seat at the table.

  • 85% of our team are women

  • Representing 5 languages & 12 nationalities

  • 10 of 12 leadership roles held by women

  • 8 of 10 leaders are under age 30, stepping into leadership for the first time

We are proud to be a women-led, immigrant-owned, BIPOC-owned business shaping the next generation of culinary leaders.

Global Mentorship & Workforce Development

We invest in the future of pastry—not only in Minnesota, but around the world.

  • Hosted 10 international J-1 Visa students for yearlong training

  • Developed a multicultural training kitchen rooted in French technique & Hmong philosophy

  • Marc selected as 1 of 7 U.S. chefs to represent IRCA Group globally

We believe talent is universal, but access is not. Our program changes that.

Supporting Youth & Local Community

We partner with local organizations to create safe, meaningful opportunities for young people.

  • Official partner of the City of Saint Paul Right Track Program, mentoring at-risk, cost-burdened youth

  • Providing hands-on training, workplace readiness, and real-life industry experience

  • Creating leadership pathways for young women, first-generation students, and newly arrived immigrants

Community is not a location—it is a responsibility.

Food Security & Local Giving

Since opening our doors, feeding our neighbors has remained core to our mission.

  • Over $40,000 of food donated to Union Gospel Mission since 2019

  • Emergency support for families in crisis through donated meals and pastries

We believe that no one in our community should go hungry.

Economic Impact & Job Creation

We are committed to building a thriving, equitable workplace in the heart of Saint Paul.

  • 27 team members supported through stable, year-round employment

  • Paid maternity leave, PTO, and a supportive work environment

  • Investment in leadership training and internal career mobility

A stronger bakery builds a stronger community.

Honoring Heritage Through Artistry

Every pastry we craft is a bridge—between Hmong memory, French tradition, and the dreams of a people without a homeland.

Signature creations like the Kua Dis, shaped like a grain of rice, tell the story of migration, resilience, and belonging. Through flavor, texture, and technique, we reclaim a tradition once used to exclude us and transform it into a shared celebration.

This is food as culture.

Food as healing.

Food as impact.
